General Care - General care is as simple as wiping the surface with a damp cloth. If a stain develops, clean with soap and water. Or if you prefer, wipe it clean with Windex.
Stains - When a stain does not clean with soap and water
or Windex take the following steps: On a matt finish using a circular
motion, apply an abrasive cleaner and buff with a maroon Scotch-brite®
pad. For a satin finish use a grey Scotch-brite® pad. The same
techniques can be used for a cigarette burn. If the veneer has a
semi-gloss or gloss finish or you are not sure of the finish, please
contact your dealer or fabricator before attempting repairs.
Cuts and Scratches - For minor cuts and scratches, simply sand lightly with a medium (180 grit) sandpaper. Then sand with a fine (220 grit) sandpaper and finally, touch up the finish by buffing with a Scotch-brite® pad as discussed under 'Stains' above.
Hygiene - Trezzini Solid Surface Veneer is non-porous and
provides an inhospitable environment for germ or mildew growth.
With proper care and cleaning, it will remain very sanitary.
Heat Protection- Trezzini is heat resistant, but an extremely
hot object straight from a heat source such as a bunsen burner or
cook top my scorch or crack the surface of your worktop. It is recommended
that you use a hot pad for such applications.
Precautions - Although Trezzini is repaired easily, steps should be taken to protect it.
- Protection from heat. As with all solid surfacing materials,
a protective mat on legs should be used under hot pans and heat
producing appliances (electric fry pans, toaster ovens, slow cookers,
etc). The protection mat needs to be the same size or larger than
the pan or appliance being used. Excessive heat directly on the
benchtop can alter the products surface appearance.
- Protection from scratching and marring. Be sure to use
a cutting board instead of cutting directly on the surface. While
minor cuts and scratches can be repaired, care should be taken
to prevent them in order to keep the surface looking new.
- Protection from chemical attack. Do not expose the surface
to harsh chemicals, such as paint remover, turpentine, nail polish
remover, or stove and drain cleaners. If these chemicals come
in contact with the surface, immediately wash them off with water
using appropriate safety precautions. Buff in a circular motion
with a Scotch-brite® pad as discussed under 'Stains' above
